ROLE: Graphics and Communication Designer

PROJECTS: Print Design | Post-Production and Installation | Motion Design

As a Graphics and Communication Designer at IKEA Brooklyn, I work closely with the store's leadership and ComIn team to design and implement visual solutions that support business priorities and enhance the in-store experience. My day-to-day includes developing signage, wayfinding, and promotional graphics tailored to the local market, ensuring all materials align with IKEA's global brand standards.

In addition to customer-facing spaces, I also support internal departments such as Goods Flow, IFS, Recovery, and Admin by creating functional, on-brand communication graphics that help teams operate more efficiently behind the scenes, I collaborate cross-functionally to plan and execute seasonal launches, product highlights, and store events, balancing creativity with function to guide, inform, and inspire customers and coworkers alike.

Home Organization Remodel

I collaborated closely with Visual Merchandiser, Jess Cifuentes to bring her vision for the Home Organization section to life during the store remodel. I sourced supporting graphics, wrote headlines, and managed the printing and installation of large-scale visuals. One detail I’m especially proud of was seamlessly aligning two panels into one using DMVLA-5. It was a small but impactful detail that elevated the overall presentation and contributed to a more cohesive customer experience.

Financial Services Wall

At the suggestion of the Store Manager, I created a large-scale financial services wall at the store entrance to clearly communicate IKEA's financing options to customers. At the time, no other store had implemented something like this. I led the project from creative concept through to execution, designing the layout, sourcing and producing the graphics, and managing printing and installation. Positioned at a key entry point, the wall served as both a visual anchor and an informative tool, helping customers feel more confident and informed about their purchasing options from the moment they entered the store.

Kitchen Planning Studio

The Kitchen Planning Studio recently underwent a remodel, and I worked closely with the Interior Designers and the Shopkeeper to implement all of the supporting graphics. From selecting visuals to managing production and installation, I ensured the new space communicated clearly and aligned with the refreshed design direction.

IKEA Ferry Schedule

IKEA partners with NY Waterway to offer free weekend ferry service for customers. The existing schedule signage, created by a former coworker, was based on NY Waterway’s website but presented the route in a way that made it seem like two separate ferries traveled to different destinations.

When updating the schedule, I redesigned the layout to clarify that there is one ferry making two stops—first at Pier 11, then at Midtown. I reformatted the schedule to read more like a bus timetable, creating a clearer, more intuitive experience for customers.

IKEA Business Center

I partnered with the Interior Designer to update all graphics during the Business Center refresh, creating clear, cohesive visuals designed to draw customers in and encourage them to explore the space.

Marketing and Event Materials

I partnered with the Local Marketing Specialist to design print and motion graphics to support in-store events and marketing campaigns. From posters and signage to images for the website, each piece is created to capture attention, communicate clearly, and stay aligned with IKEA’s visual identity.
